The singularity brings the speedster Zoom from a parallel universe of Earth-2, who seeks to eliminate all other speedsters in the multiverse where Barry meets his father Henry Allen's Earth-3 counterpart Jay Garrick. After Zoom kills Barry's father, Barry defeats Zoom and travels back in time to save his mother's life.

Oliver and Felicity are living in Ivy Town, but return to the renamed Star City, to fight terrorist group H.I.V.E., led by Damien Darhk. Oliver adopts the moniker "Green Arrow" whilst also running for mayor. The discovery of the existence of his son William, and his decision to conceal the truth, leads to the breakup of his relationship with Felicity. Laurel is killed by Darhk, and Oliver discovers his plan to detonate nuclear weapons. The season's flashbacks see Oliver returned to Lian Yu by Waller, where he attempts to infiltrate criminal group Shadowspire.

Kara is forced to reveal her powers, and she becomes National City's protector. In the process, she discovers that hundreds of the criminals her mother imprisoned are hiding on Earth, including her aunt Astra and her husband Non. Kara works with her adoptive sister Alex Danvers to fight these criminals alongside the Green Martian J'onn J'onzz, her cousin's friend James Olsen, and tech genius Winn Schott.

Time Master Rip Hunter goes rogue after the immortal tyrant Vandal Savage conquered Earth and killed his family, in what would be the future. Intending to save humanity and avenge his family, Rip recruits a team of superheroes and villains, consisting of Ray Palmer / the Atom, Sara Lance / White Canary, Martin Stein and Jefferson "Jax" Jackson / Firestorm, Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl, Carter Hall / Hawkman, Leonard Snart / Captain Cold, and Mick Rory / Heat Wave, who venture through time on a stolen time ship, the Waverider, to stop Savage's rise to power.

Vixen and Kuasa join forces to steal the Water Totem. However, when Kuasa takes the Totem for herself, Vixen unveils her backup plan: the Atom and Black Canary. After the death of Kuasa, Vixen faces Eshu in final battle to destroy the Fire Totem and defeat the villain.
